How fortunate many of us are to live in an era when sheltering in place due to pandemic means more free time for television, movies, and books. A smart home with WiFi and surround sound gives us the ability to stay entertained regardless of where we are in our homes. The only question is, what to watch? Here are some ideas.
You’ve heard the buzz about some of these movies, but you haven’t wanted to watch them until you could watch the whole series. Until, you haven’t had time. And now… you have time. Give these a try:
- Star Wars (sci-fi)
There is some debate about the order in which to watch these, since the first movie released in the series was Episode IV. However, going chronologically, there will be a few fillers to fit in between Episodes III and VI. This handy list gives two different options—narratively and chronologically.
- Marvel Avengers (fantasy)
Since there are 23 movies and counting that have all taken place at various and concurrent times throughout the series, you may need a little help figuring out what to watch when. As for where to watch, if you don’t have Disney+, you may have to switch between Amazon and Vudu to buy or rent them.
- Harry Potter (fantasy)
If you’ve read the books, you must see the movies. Subscriptions to the USA Network through Fubo TV, Sling TV, and DirecTV will give you access to all of them. You can also buy or rent them through Amazon or YouTube TV. If you’re lucky—and subscribe to Hulu—you just might find them for free every now and then.
The introduction of streaming services and their proprietary content opened a whole new world of entertainment. All you need is WiFi and a subscription, and you can keep busy for hours. We’ve listed a few shows for each category. You can find these on the big streaming carriers: Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Hulu.
